What do emotions and weight gain have in common?
Weight gain is not about food. It is about all the emotions that lead us to eat when we are not hungry. As a coping mechanism, we have learned to turn to food for all the times in our lives when we were hurt, unable to express ourselves or get our needs met. After a while, food became more than just a physical substance that stopped the hunger pains. It became that missing element that served as the balm for hurts, anxieties, mixed messages and feelings of inadequacy. Food became love. With this in mind, carrying extra weight makes perfect sense. We are still using food as a coping mechanism now, probably more than ever.
How Does Emotional Release Weight Loss Work?
Emotional Release Weight Loss targets the core issues of weight gain using a dual approach.
- We cognitively explore the reasons for weight gain and develop strategies to return to a healthy relationship with food and our bodies (without dieting, rigid exercise programs or supplements).
- We use energy based therapies including Emotional Freedom Techniques and Guided Visualization. EFT releases the stored negative energy in our bodies producing positive changes in the way we think and feel. Following this procedure, you will notice improved self esteem and normalized thoughts about food. Without the burden of unwanted eating patterns, the body can return to its natural healthy weight.
